I inducted a dear friend of mine this year, but sadly she couldn't join us at the event. Here is what she sent for me to read (name redacted to protect the agent's identity). It warmed my heart.
THE NEW YORK CHAPTER of the Secret Society for Creative Philanthropy, founded in 2006, was the original site of hijinks and generous happenstance. Despite its reputation as a heartless city of racing automatons, it has proven a fertile testing ground for giving, gathering, and dancing our asses off. The chapter membership tends towards the artsy, rather than the fartsy.

Last night was a racuous success at Underwater Lounge, as 16 new Agents were officially inducted into the Secret Society for Creative Philanthropy. In this year's diverse giving experiments, strangers' kindnesses were validated, children were empowered, the famous Paul Farmer was emboldened, artist friends were legitimized, and pennies were strewn nationally, among much else.

Agent 0079 taps long-time associate Loretta Rae as the newest member of the SSCP. Ms. Rae will have a mere three days to plan and complete a mission with the $100 given to her today. What did she have to say?
